COMPETITION FRAMEWORK
The NATURE FORTE PHOTO CONTESTS are organized by the Nature Forte gallery.
The organization of photo contests is the second activity of Galerie Nature Forte. This art gallery located in the heart of Paris is mainly dedicated to the representation of artists showing the force of nature. Any artistic creation whose purpose is to show the force of nature can be found in this concept. These creations can be the result of any type of artistic activity: painting, sculpture, photography, drawing, illustration…
The gallery opened in March 2023.
GENERAL PROVISIONS
The NATURE FORTE PHOTO COMPETITIONS are open to professional and amateur photographers from around the world. Employees of the Nature Forte gallery are excluded.
THEMES
Several competitions are organized each year on the themes: Wildlife, Landscape/seascapes/waterscapes, Underwater, Man and nature, Abstract, Macro, Aerial, Trees, News / photojournalism / documentary / essay, Flowers, Plants and fungi. These eleven themes will be addressed ultimately. Only a few will be covered in the first year.
REGISTRATION FEES AND PAYMENT TERMS
The registration fee is 10 euros and allows you to participate in the competition with a maximum of three photographs. Ranges of two euros may apply per additional photo up to a limit of ten photos. Registration fees cannot be refunded. A confirmation email will be sent to you when registration has been validated.
SUBMISSION OF PHOTOGRAPHS
All photographs must be sent via the site in JPG format. The file size of each image must not exceed 5MB. Work entirely done on the computer, photomontages, photographs with signature or watermark will not be admitted.
COPYRIGHT AND USE OF IMAGES
Each participant retains the copyright of the images sent. The participant certifies that the work is his/her own. The participant allows the organizers to reproduce free of charge the material sent for promotional purposes linked to the photographic competition. The winning photographs will be made available to media outlets wishing to announce the results of the competition. Each time the images are used, the organizers or the media will cite the name of the author. No photograph that participates in the NATURE FORTE PHOTO CONTESTS will be put on sale or used by one of the sponsors of the NATURE FORTE PHOTO CONTESTS for any commercial or other purpose.
EXCLUSION
A participant may be excluded by the organization if he or she does not comply with the rules and conditions of the competition.
DIGITAL MANIPULATION OF IMAGES
It is possible to use digital manipulation to optimize the image. It is also possible to cut an image, but it is not allowed to add or eliminate a key element of the composition. Brightness, contrast and color balance can be adjusted, but local retouching is prohibited. Dust spots, minor items, etc. ...can be retouched. The images may be accentuated before printing. Manipulations which could probably be obtained in the darkroom will be accepted, but the judges will have the power to refuse any image which, in their indisputable assessment, has been excessively retouched to the detriment of the original image.
JURY RULES
Participants will be evaluated by the judges who have been appointed. Voting will be done anonymously. The judges will therefore not know the names of the participants. The jury will evaluate the images based on visual impact, composition, originality, technique, creativity but also and above all on the ability to communicate a message, a feeling or an emotion. The members of the jury will assign a score from 1 to 5 to each photograph. The twenty photographs with the best averages will be preselected.
Preselected participants must send, before the date provided for in the rules and under penalty of exclusion from the competition, the high resolution image file.
These twenty finalists will be exhibited at the Nature Forte gallery.
SENDING WORKS TO THE GALLERY
Selected photographers will have two methods to be exhibited. The first: the artist sends the work to the gallery, ready to be hung, within the allotted time frame. Dimensions are 50x70cm. The second: the gallery is responsible for having it printed. The artist is then invoiced at cost. The print will be made on fine art paper and framed in a beautiful wooden frame. Cost: €50.
RETURN OF WORKS TO PHOTOGRAPHERS
The exhibited photographs may be sent to the artists at the end of the exhibition. Either the artists will pick them up at the gallery or they will be sent by mail. The price of the shipment will be invoiced to the artist at cost price. For France: €10, for the European Union: €15, for the rest of the world: €20.
COMMUNICATION OF RESULTS
All participants will receive the competition results by email. They will also be published on the competition website.
ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
Registration of a participant implies acceptance of all the rules and conditions of these regulations.
