ARDIF

Ardif is a French street artist based in Paris.

During his architectural studies he became interested in the aesthetics of buildings and machines at different scales.

Today his work explores possible hybridizations between architecture/machine and nature.

His “Mechanimals” series is the illustration of this graphic universe and has been visible on the walls of the capital since 2016, as well as internationally (New York, London, etc.)

The natural symmetry of the animal allows for a composition that plays on the contrast of materials, scales and textures. This urban fauna creates a contrast which questions us about the impact of the artificialization of nature or, conversely, of the wild and primitive instinct to be found in our urban life.

The question of the balance to be found between technical progress and respect for the environment is at the heart of the artist's work. Without having the answer to this fundamental question, Ardif tries to bring a new imagination and personal symbolism.
